Im in the middle of doing a cam and head gasket swap and i took the timing cover off notice that the oil pan gaskit stuck on the timing cover and look like someone been in there before and have cut it on eatch side and used rtv to seal it up i never had a oil leak. Has anyone elice done it this way and what the chance of doing the samething or am i in troble and got to try and change the oil pan gaskit

Some people try and succeed in doing it that way, but the right way is to lower the front of the oil pan before removing the timing cover. Now, you have the decision to replace the whole oil pan gasket or try to put it back together with enough RTV gooped on it, so that it won't leak.

I've done it this way too. Several times. Every time I would drop the pan I would clean the silicone away and lay a fresh bead on the block, pan and between the two gaskets and then let it completely cure before starting the engine. Ultra Black works well for areas that are exposed to engine oil.
