So I was on my way back from the movies with my buddy(trying to take it easy because I'm selling the car) when he spots a lamborghini in the opposite lane, headin back toward the freeway we had just got off of. Needless to say, I flipped a bitch. Get up on him and it's a white Gallardo convertible. I was in 4th, at about 70mph. I hate taking the hit, so I waited on him. He smacked it and I followed suit. He instantly took his rear bumper to my front tire. I started gaining on him, but didn't have time to pass before I geared out 4th at about 120. He shut down once he realize I was at his door anyway. I wasn't gaining fast, but I was gaining on a "supercar". Pretty good feeling.

Sounds like a nice dream to me as well

Haha I figured the haters would show up first. I'm in San Diego, there's money around here, and I happened to run into some of it. I never said I walked all over the guy, but I was starting to gain on him. Granted if we had kept going I would've lost the advantage of my 4.11s because I would have had to put it in 5th and he would've walked away from me.

I've been in a bolt-on LS1 M6 with 4.10s and I've been in a Gallardo and driven a Gallardo - I highly doubt you did too hot against one in 4th gear

Read again. Not bolt ons. H/C, a very well matched setup at that, and a good tune. Previous owner had the car 11.6 with traction issues, so in the power band and with no traction issues I don't see where the mystery is. I didn't think I'd hold up as well as I did, but I did. Why would I have any reason to come back to my barracks room at 1am and post a lie? Look at my previous posts. This is probably what, my 10th in like 5 years? Believe it if you want. If not, do me a favor and quit trolling.

I'll even go as far to say hey, maybe he wasn't in it all the way. But that thing sure sounded loud as p!$$ when his exhaust was next to my window. I have no reason to lie. It honestly sounds like you're a little bitter. The only vehicle in your sig is a truck. Does somebody miss their car?

FWIW, as long as we're raising BS flags, a college age kid from Iowa driving a Gallardo, or even getting a ride in one? Maybe, but I think it's much less likely than a built LS1 car hanging with a Gallardo.

My bad, I didn't see H/C. You can tell I was tired when I quickly skimmed through it. Still why 4th gear? :bang:

As far as the Iowa kid driving a Gallardo, my dad's boss (CEO of bank he is CFO of) owns a few Lamborghinis. He has an Aventador on order, has a 2011 Gallardo Superleggera (the one that I drove) and his wife has a white 2010 LP560-4 Spyder - I prefer the one I drove. That e-gear transmission is nasty. I now know why he loves them and I do as well, but with the nearest dealership being 3 hours for service, I'd be a bit worried.

Just because someone is from Iowa does not mean they live on a farm

Nice, I believe it. Had a buddy with a similar turnout...well he actually pulled the Lambo pretty good. I bet it was fun though. Those cars do sound like sex! Shoulda been in 3rd :(

marc97taws6...what no farms in iowa !!!!....lololol...just messin'...not to steal this thread, but your lucky to have someone so close that owns those type's of cars...and a aventador on order...smart man...that should take a while as they sold out what was produced...that aventador runs 10.3 in the 1/4...pure sex in my eye's...

IROCMAN88...great job, i love lambo's but if i were to race one i would do everything you did to win...ignore haters...

I stand corrected on the driving the lambo thing.

Maybe I should have been in third. My shift light comes on around 115 and I hit the rev limiter at like 120 I think? Also, I didn't look at the speedo before he nailed it. For all I know we could have been closer to 75-80. I was in the power band in 4th, but yes I would have had better throttle response in third. Only thing is I probably would have had to shift right away. Between being so pumped just to play with a car like that and not knowing whether or not he was going to bite, I honestly didn't think about it.

I don't know what the car traps at. I've never had her to the track myself and don't have a time slip handy right now. I want to say 122 but don't quote me.

The body shop I work in is the certified Lamborghini, Ferrari and Aston Martin body shop in Atlanta. Needless to say I get to see a ton of cool ass cars. I'll take some pictures and post them up some time

It is actually a curse. Once you drive one, you want to own one.

I laid the smack down on one in my 750rwhp G8 and he was shocked to say the least. TVS2300 and 418 at the time, yes I was picking on him lol

Haha! I want to own one just seeing and hearing it in person. I could only imagine..

That sounds awesome. I plan on my IROC being around 800-900 at the wheels after the TT 408 is finished so I can't wait until I can "toy" with supercars.

And that's why I love F-bodies. Must've been stoked after the race.

You bet your ass I was...

Nice run. That's badass to run into Lambo.

Since when is it unbelievable for a H/C, full bolt-ons, geared F-body to keep up and/or slowly gain on a Gallardo?

Exactly^. H/C, full bolt-on f-body should be a 10 sec/low 11 sec car.

:rotflmao: Don't say Farm and Marc's name in the same sentence, he'll get all PMS on you and push you in the chest and ask you to armwrestle. Found that one out

The older Gallardo's are not that fast. They're close to 114-116 mph cars. I've seen a couple older bolt on M5's take them down.

Haha like I said, while my parents and I now own some farm land (gpa is signing some over to me), don't think I live on one :ripped:

I'll be selling it right away. This was my gpa's "grad present". What a guy :hail:

Once you sell it, you'll be grateful for that grad present! I sure as fuck wouldn't mind a couple tens of thousands of dough

Ohh, I'm definitely grateful. 10 acres right outside of Ankeny. Ankeny is expanding and I think the city of Ankeny last offered him a price of $40k/acre. Maybe I'll just sit on it until they are forced to buy it out

marc97taws6...that's the reason i never test drive a Z06 or a ZR1...once you drive it, you're sunk...lolol....the new MOTOR TREND is all on supercars, and finally ROAD & TRACK posted that the new AVENTADOR is the second quickest car that they ever tested behind the VEYRON SS...
