Best oil for LS3 418 Stroker, big cam, high compression?? 30W, 40W or 5OW. I live in Florida, if that makes a difference as far as temps.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Your oil choice is going to be affected by your bearing clearances and oil system. What are your figures? Stock clearances would stay with 10/30 or 10/40WT oil.

agree clearances are the main factor do you have a build sheet
of what the lower end clearances are

The motor was completed several months ago and the engine builders-Arvil &Chris Fowler of XTREME HP in Texas are out of business. They never sent the build sheet.

What I was trying to say before server failed, they recommended 10W30 Mobil 1 syn , but my sources tell me syn not good for break in motor. I don't know if they used break in oil then changed to Mobil 1. I going to put Brad Penn Racing oil in ASAP. But I can't get in touch with them to confirm.(another story)

Thanks :)

i would think i would follow what the engine builders recommend i mean gm breaks all there engines in with mobil 1 they are factory filled with it but when it comes down to it its your choice i have used pennzoil forever and never had a problem with it

If you have stock clearances, stick with 5w30 that they are supposed to Be ran on.
