Mercruiser 6.0 LY6?
I just scored a 2008 pullout from a boat. Looks like Gm built a 6.0 w/ 823 casting heads. Offset rockers,58X reluctor, knock sensors on the side, and cam sensor in the front just like the new stuff. The LY6 in the production cars are 6.2's. Looks like an Ls2 pan. The water pump is different w/ the out let pointing straight up between tensioner and pump pulley, rather than the radiator. Everything is plug and play for the turbo bird my shop is building. Has 75 hrs on it. Pics....

Yeah,I just figured that out about 5 minutes ago. I had them confused w/ the L92's in the Escalades and Denali's. Ok,so I have a real LY6! We are currently tearing it down for a turbo build and should be racing it here in about 3 months. Building a 1995 Firebird bumper to bumper for one of my techs.

That seems a little strange. From everything I've seen, mercruiser does't run any LS type motors. In fact a lot of people are swapping them into their boat. They use gen I or II. I do know that gm does produce LS marine motors though (LY6). I just checked their website and they have no LS motors. The 6.2 liter is a strocked 350 with 383 ci. Probably not a mercruiser.
