gen 1 into LT1 car. got questions
Hey guys i know this might not be the right place to post this but i didnt know where els to ask.
I am about to swap a gen 1 400 sbc into my 95 camaro and need to figure out what serpentine system i can use. I know the stock one wont work because of the reverse cooling right?
anyone know what i can use?
thanks

The holes on the block will not completely line up with the bracket off the LT1 car so you'll have to modify that, and you'll have to run the neutral balance dampner because it is the pulley for the belt system off the crank. I have seen the 3rd gen f-car set-up work, i'm not sure where all he had to massage, but it all went in, he also used the LT1 rad, but I beleive the fans were hittting the waterpump pulley so he had to get slimmer fans. The injection system he was running was a holley stealthram, had to cut and weld in a peaice on the firewall to clear the distributor, and had a cowel hood. I wish I had taken pictures of it.

I'm curious my self on this cause I'm trying a 400 with a tuned port setup instead of stealth ram. And I'm just re drilling the accessory bracket to bolt to 400 and may use a gen 1 water pump and longer belt. How are you during this engine? Are u using factory lt1 harness/ecm?

Im not too familiar with gen I stuff, but ive seen the third gen guys modify LT1 intakes to fit their heads. I think they drill the intake for a distributor, use a remote mount tstat, and use
fittings for the crossovers. Also you can use a pcm from a vortec truck and crab style distrubutor.
