Default power diff between cats and offroad pipe

running slp headers with slp cats now just wondering how much power difference would it be to run without the cats? also have stock catback with flowmaster muffler would it be a big difference to run an aftermarket catback or should i just get a cutout? all suggestions are appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

The general rule without cats is 3-4 hp, you would get some gains on an aftermarket cat back, just a guess around 10rwhp and get rid of the flowmaster, it is the worst flowing muffler on an F-body.
If you want your car to be somewhat quiet, keep the setup you have and install a cutout. Buddy dyno'ed his car with a cutout and picked up 40rhp over the flowmaster. He keeps his flowmaster to keep the sound down on the street.
Cutouts good for the track, bad for the cops attention.

I would like to know this too, but relative to stock cats
vs the Mufflex offroad tubes vs the Random Tech stock
replacement catted Y-pipe w/ high-flow cats.

Plz get rid of the flowmaster.... Right now i have the stock cat-back with the flowmaster muffler. It was so bad that I had to put a cut-out before the damn muffler so it would flow somewhat descent. It is terrible and robs your flow very badly. If your talking about not running cats through the system you have now, you probly not going to gain much because of the flowmaster muffler, however if you put a cut-out before the muffler and run no cats, you'll not only be loud as hell but gain about 10 hp or so.

[QUOTE=98Z28MrO]Plz get rid of the flowmaster....

my car had a FlowMaster and gave it away after I upgraded to a Borla Cat-back. I agree; Flowmaster are the worst. I don't know if you've seen a cut out of a flowmaster, but they have baffles all over the place.
