S60 Spool+Street Driven=What Rims???
Not sure if I should post this in here or the wheels section but here is my dilemma/question...
I am waiting on my spooled S60 to arrive, meanwhile I would like to get a set of wheels. I currently have some Nitto's 555r's on the stock 16" rim. I have a set of Pro Stars up front and I am wondering if I should just get a set of cheap heavy Jeg Stars for the rear, or not be a cheap *** and get the lighter Pro Stars for the rear? The spool will have roughly 1500-2500 street miles yearly, so do you guys recommend the lighter or heavier rim?
I know softer tires work well around turn with a spool, but what about the rims....please help, thanks!
****, while your at it...15x8 or 15x10?
Thanks in advance for your input!

You don't say what ratio gears you're getting but if you're sticking with 4.10s or 3.73s you want to stay with a 26 inch tall tire so you don't kill your ratio with too tall a tire. Mickey Thompson lists two 26 inch DRs and they recommend a 7.5-9.5 inch rim for these tires. So to me it looks like a 15x8 rim. If bigger tires are in your future go with 15x10s. You want to be mindful of your RPMs through the traps....But since you're needing a S60 with spool I'm probably telling you things you already know. lol

It has 3.73's. I was thinking of going 28' tall tires cause I think the extra sidewall will alleviate some of the shock the axles feel on street miles around turns.
I broke down today and picked up some 15x8 Weld ProStars for the rear. Now its time for the tires...really debating between the 26 and 28....hmmmmm
Guppy, right now I have more driveline then power, so do you think with a cam (eventually this summer) I will be too high of rpm range with a 28 incher and 3.73?

370, yeah I bought your 'old' one. I feel like our cars now have a brotherly bond LOL. Hope you get your set up soon! I had to get smaller studs so I have been waiting to get it. I plan on posting pics soon! I also want to show off my Midwest Chassis full rear suspension set up that I just installed so plan on a ton of pics soon!

Check out the gear/tire calculator at f-body.org it will help you decide what tire dia to get for your expected mph at the track.
From what I've read about spools on the street, the 28s will probably ride the best. IMHO for a N/A high rpm LS engine a 28" tire goes best with 4.56 gears.
If you're going to use nitrous your 3.73s would be good cause the car will mph higher than the N/A setup.
FYI a 3.73 gear 28 tire combo will equal the same overall gearing as 3.42s with a 26" tire, so you can see how the tall tire will kill your gearing for optimum track performance.

I have their Panhard, LCA, LCA brackets, all on car adjustable with rod ends. This along with my QA1 set up dropped my 60 ft's to 1.7 from 2.1
I plan on getting his drag bar and torque arm when I swing by to get the rear end.
His **** is awesome. Bearly any noise from the rod ends and the car hooks up great. The best part about MWC is their suspension **** is dirt cheap IMO! I wasn't going to even touch the suspension until I seen his pricing! Installation was a breeze!
