Street Racing & Kill Stories - First kill since ive owned my car vs an srt-4

Well ive owned this car for about a month now, all it has is an SLP lid. Well tonight i filled up my car and went out to the local meet with a buddy of mine. We were meeting up with another group of buddies but they called me telling me the spot got raided, so we turned around and started to head to the 2nd spot.

On the way there a Black SRT-4 kept blowing off next to me, which i find really annoying especially since the car was obviously stock turbo (slow). Anyways drop it into 2nd at 40 mph he beeped it off, i pulled instantly from the hit a car, by the time i through 3rd i had 3-4 cars on him i rode out 3rd gear and banged 4th gear and let off i had at least 7 cars on him (i shit you not). He pulled up next to me after the run and said "but bro im stock" (The srt obviously had exhaust and BOV atleast from what i could tell) i lold and said i only have an intake lid. He was like

2-4 gear and when as soon as i banged 4th i let off
Pulled atleast 7 cars.
Guy claimed to be stock (had exhaust and BOV atleast) and felt bad when i said my car only had a lid.

SRT4's with stock turbos are typically "slow" but there are few out there with the right set up (e85 ect) that will surprise you.

Thanks, and yeah there's a couple full bolt on e85 srt's that are pretty impressive. Seen some trap over 110 with those mods. Cant wait to run into one when i get bolt ons.

Yea I still have the POS... I have a few buddies trapping 117ish just bolt ons, only one that goes to the track ran 12.1 @ 116 first pass ever then snapped the axle 2nd pass. Should go high 11s no problem. Basic bolt ons + E85 and street tuned via DiabloSport

Yea they respond very well to mods, a lot of people add shit they dont need to though. Basic bolt on + E85 SHOULD be around 330whp 410tq which is plenty to get into the upper 11s/low 12s if you can drive somewhat decent.... Camaro just has intake/exhaust/tune, slow/boring as fuck.

Man I never know a few bolt Ons, on a srt4 and it's a 11sec car .. Crazy .. I guess they run well vs 5.0s because a few bolt Ons and those are 11 sec cars.. I have ran a few srt4s and they always bite the dust ! But they must have been 100% stock because if they had a few bolt Ons they would have ate me alive .. :)

Thanks, had very good DA that day. Now the car is begging for 3.73s. Converters wake the autos up, it was a day/night difference between the stocker and made the car so much more fun to drive. People thought it was a manual especially when it would roll down hill if you didn't put the brakes on. :)

Yeah i bet, converters are a night and day difference for autos from what i read. I hope my car traps something in that MPH with longtubes and exhaust lol.

Should be able to, when I had the longtubes and cam put in, the car trapped 113 in 90* air, I know it has 115 in it and still with the poor ls1 intake on it :(

11sec stock turbo SRT-4 has been done, but it's not common. You need slicks and a great driver to do it. I never got there, but I trapped 121mph trying with a modified stock turbo and E85. With big turbo all I've done is break axles. Now after the motor build, I'm just gonna drive it on the street mostly.

It's been done, but only a few times by shops like Realtune and DCR. Generally it's not the case. There was a huge argument the other day on the skittle forums and the pros chimed in with vids and everything.

Those were stock turbos. I think one had an external wastegate put in the manifold and the flapper welded over.

Like I said before, it's been done, but you will probably never see it in person. Most guys are maxing out the stocker with E85 trapping between 110 and 115mph.

And yes, since these cars are getting cheap, the douchery is getting more common in the community.

Yeah im talking about YEARS ago though like 5-6 years ago when they were brand new, the owners i knew thought they had ROCKETS. Always talking down to everyones cars. But yeah now that they have no value, the owners are just kids who used to have hondas and mod em like hondas.

a fully modded stock turbo for the most part is in the 12.0-12.5 and from 110-115mph... you need a christmas miracle to run 11s, but good drivers can do it

again, im not saying this doesnt happen, i know you can get high 11s with stock turbo, but there is every single supporting thing under the sun to get it there... so youre more likely to see a big turbo srt to actually be afraid of before you see an 11 sec stock turbo srt, cause not many bother with doing so.

but srte85, as well as srts can do, dont glorify them for these ls1 guys ;) . it takes people that put hrs and $$$ into them who know what theyre doing to make them into serious cars, other than that theyre just another car to laugh at because sadly most peopel that drive them these days are fuckin fags.

E85 is very common down here i think ima take the step when i tune, ive seen the gains first hand on all other cars besides f-bodys. I live literally a couple blocks from a pump and the other 2 are maybe 10 min away from my house. As for the exhaust making 288 whpi call BS too my buddy made 28x with a bunch of tricks in 08-09 his car was on pump though. He raced the fastest stock turbo down here at the time and lost by 1 car, that car that beat him made 29x on pump with an external. Ive had friends with them since highschool, im aware of there potential.

back in the day we didnt have dsp,only mapclamp so racegas came in the play. We all kno dans and realtunes runs were on 110rg . Now e85 will make more power.
