questions on upgrading my rear end
im looking to upgrade my 10 bolt 7.5 with 3.42's in my 2000 6spd z28 to something better but not going over kill with it and trying to get one good priced. i was told to look into the ford racing svt mustang 8.8 10 bolt with 3.73 gears (which i do want 373's for sure) but i was wondering do i need a whole new rear end or can i just get an upgraded diff with 373's?
my mods are:
224/228 .581 .588 112lsa TSP cam
intake
tune
header
exhaust
LS6 intake manifold

I think you be safer with a 9" or 8.8 as you are a 6spd
but if you want a built 7 1/2 I will take 500 AND help you install it
as I have a lift at my home
2000 7 1/2 diff 75k on housing
4-5 k on locker/gear/axels/all new bearings
ta cover/stud kit (140.00)
detroit locker (525.00)
3.73 (200.00)
mos axels (350.00) with the reluctor rings
welded tubes
relocate brackets
if you want more info PM me for my phone #

An 8.8 will not work without custom mounting points for everything. People have some it themselves, but I don't believe anyone makes one for our cars. A cheap upgrade to the 10 bolt is a rear end girdle. I don't know why more people don't run them. Otherwise you are looking at $2500+ for a new one. If you do go new check out Midwest chassis. They make a really nice 9"

Lol no ten bolt will survive with a 6 spd I'd say get a aftermarket rearend 9in.,s60 would be the ones you should
Look at unless you wanna keep repairing that 10bolt. You'll save yourself money, time and be alot happier knowing you can beat the hell
Out of it and not worry if it will blow up again especially since you have a bolt ons.
But good luck with any decision you choose
