The hood stops on firebirds (and camaros) are plastic. My trans am is always garaged but the hood stop broke. Corner of hood closed lower then normal. when I turned on the lights, one of them wouldn't go up all the way scratching the hood and stripping the plastic headlight motor gear. I replaced the hood stop ($7). Toched up the hood. Now I need to order the brass gears for the headlight motor. All becouse of a cheap peace of plasric.

My advice, every firebird owner should buy the two hoodstops and replace the old. Just some cheap proventitive maitenence. My car is 98 so its 14 yars old.

Does any one know what other part is a good idea to replace?

I hate to see how pissed you're going to be when your dash starts cracking

I bought the car in 04. One month later the dash cover cracked. I put in subframe connectors and no more cracking.
