Got a buddy willing to race my 08 gxp.. But im not sure if I should wait til my CAI tune and spray is done and just blow his doors off!! In bone stock now :( only muffler delete.

He just bought a automatic 2006 mustang gt.. Think it only has exhaust..

Where do I have best chance? Roll? Dig?

Think our cars are about the same power but he weighs less!!

Race him stock, then race him with your mods.

Do both, dig and roll. You have the best chance from a roll depending on your speed.

No. I've beaten a few stock 05+ mustangs, but then have been destroyed by one with CAI, exhaust, and a tune.

At least whether you win or lose you can laugh and say he bought an automatic mustang....bet its a convertible. And he likes the wind in his hair...and he's bald.

Should be a pretty close race since both are stock.

not sure if same motor (2v) but my bussy and i do pulls a lot me 08 gxp him 03 gt with trick flow IM, k&N, and slp cat back. his is stick. our 1/4's were 5/100 off him winning. our pulls are i win 20-30-40 roll, not by much but a win. 50 roll i get smoked and his top end surpasses me by a lot. his 100 and up pulls wayyyyyy harder! get that tap shift going and give him a 20-40.! post back! very curious.

edit: im stock as well besides muffler deletes and a custom t-606 k&n but not for long damn it:headbang:

Oh I'll be posting it back on here haha even videos maybe.. :) talking to Dave at tep and looking to do tranny after this CAI comes in the mail so I can start looking at DRs and my nitrous kit.. Wet single nozzle.. think the tranny will be the best thing to mod first..

As for my buddy's stang, it's a hard top.. And he has hair hahahahaha.. But yes first thing I laughed at was that it's a auto.. Haha I was like i wanna drive it.. Wait is it stick?? No?? Ok nevermind screw that hahaha

My 07 mustang gt auto by ran a 13.9 stock so I think the stang might win if both are stock.

3v is a far better match up than a 2v. should be extremely close.

It's a driver race to 100 mph.

I rode in it.. And I think I'll get him off the gate and he's gna start pulling around 100..

I got him scared though haha it's funny!! He said no too many times and I told him last night now were not racing until I get the trinity which he's buying for me in trade for my sound system!!! Haha and I'm making it at my local 1/8th mile track!! I KNOW I'll BEAT HIM!! Just hoping to get tires sometime after the trinity and lews tune!!!

Can't find any to fit.. Heard 275s will fit but site says they won't.. That's the nitto 555r that u hear everyone run!! Tires for a gxp???? Anyone?? 250 or so a tire!! Anyone hear of the s04 pole position potenzas?? Not a DR but I know they'll fit..

Alot of people run 275s on their 8" rims, while others as well as tire manufacturers say not too. And since nittos don't run as wide as other tires you should be fine. And I have a trinity for sale that's maybe 2 months old and Lew agreed to pass my custom tune to the next owner since I haven't used it.

Yeah nittos site and other sites said 10" wide rim.. but yeah I've heard about the 275s fitting multiple time on this forum..

I want the best of the best that will fit and isn't over 300 a tire haha.. Dont want to buy rims just tires to fit stock rims.. Seems the nittos will be my option..

Seeing as you live about an hr south of me. If you plan to drive your car in the winter with your new tires I would stay away from R compound tires.

555r's run small so a 275 will be more like a 255.

These will be track tires only... I have brand new kumho platinum lx ecsta's for all seasons but need tires for the track!!! :(
