how the hell do i get the header in place? I've tried down through the top and up through the bottom. it seems like the oil filter is in the way. can i just take it off? please help.

Have the car on stands as high as you can SAFELY work on it. I had the rear on ramps the front on stand.
Remove Oil Filter,Starter, Steering shaft
Note i also removed the spark plugs, the reason is sometimes the header flange will bump a plug and crack it or break it off completely.
I did both from bottom, and i started with the passenger side, you might or might not have to make a tiny dent in the header tube to clear the k member, it just depends on what headers you have and how good your mounts are.
Take your time are wedge them up in their.
