Question TCI Flexplate powdercoated ?

I just got my new TCI SFI flexplate (Thanks Speed Inc), but it is powdercoated. Looks nice, but my concern is that the powdercoating can break down - between the crank end and the flexplate, causing the bolts to be loose. IE under the pressure from the bolts, heat from crank, and add (possibly) a little oil to the mix.

Anybody have any exp with this ?

Thanks, J

Don't worry! it doesn't get that hot down there. If it did you would be buying another tranny and not a flex.

Just curious the weight difference between the TCI and stock unit? What about strength?

Thanks for the reply. I did not think it would get that hot, just the combo of heat/pressure/oil. I really do not want to have any problems with the plate coming loose.

Gino,

It looks heavier, but definitly stronger. I believe SFI is basically a safety spec.
