Default Black 09 GT-R extensive correction detail

This black GT-R came in for an extensive correction. The soft GT-R paint presented its own challenges, but with the right tools and products, a high level of correction was achieved. The better part of 2 days was spent getting the car to look its best.

As it arrived

Tips would require some good polishing

Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner to make the wheels and brake calipers look amazing again.

Much better now

Pre-wash foaming to soften the dirt before washing

Swirls

After compounding, final polishing to be carried out later

Corrected (specs are just some polishing dust)

Tail lights need corrective work as well

The door jambs and trunk jambs also got attention and were sealed for protection and ease of cleaning.

For the clear film wrap on the front end of the car....

LSP choice for this car was Blackfire Wet Diamond

A little prep spray on the applicator

Allowing it to cure overnight for the best results

Finished pictures in the sun

Remember the rough looking exhaust tips?

Right side

Looks great as always!

Do you usually let sealant cure overnight or was this for a specific reason?

The longer you let it cure, the better the look and durability.

Thanks!

Looks great. What product and process do you use for the taillight correction?

Looking at your jobs like this makes me want to start doing this rather than sitting inside programming all day

I'm a bit confused though, what is this "clear film for the front"? Looks like a wax?

Thanks man and great job as always!!

The car looked pretty rough, for a fairly newer vehicle. But you did a great job with the correction.

Do you do this professionally, or more of a hobby???

Thank you! The whole front is wrapped in protective clear film or clear bra to protect from stone chips. Because it is a wrap, there are no seams to see so it looks nearly invisible on the paint. What you were seeing is me applying protective sealant to the film.

Black colored cars can look the best but most of the time are way too hard to maintain.
Regardless, A+ work there man.
