255lph on stock motor?
I have a 2000 Z28 A4 with only an SLP lid. I am planning on upgrading several things in the future and have purchased a 255lph pump to replace my stock one that has went out. Is there going to be any issues or am I going to have to regulate it down any. From the way I understood its like a reserve, that all the fuel will bypass back through the return line into the tank anyways. Would appreciate some knowledge on this subject.

you are correct. Having the larger pump does not have any ill effects. Your stock regulator will take care of this also.
make sure you purchased the wiring harness with it... you will wish you had if you didn't. If you didn't, just get some good heavy gauge wiring (fused) properly for the pump and sized properly for the amperage of the pump.
