Supercharged widebody C6 correction detail
This car came to me via my local car club. Many thanks to Drew for referring his uncle to me. He'd never had a detail of this caliber and was a little skeptical of the cost and time involved, but as he had just had the Z06 rear fender kit installed and the body shop and just couldn't finish it down he decided it was time for a more serious treatment. Day started off early (before the sun came up) to get to his location as it was a long drive. There was heavy orangepeel on the bumper that he requested be removed and that added some time....it was a long 2 days on this gorgeous corvette. In the end, he was very pleased.
Products used for correction:
-Trizact 1500/3000 grit
-Meguairs interface pad
-Surbuff pads
-Meguiars MF cutting discs
-Lake Country tangerine and black pads
-Meguiars 101
-Meguiars D300
-Menzerna SIP
-Menzerna 106FA
-Griots 6" DA
Car was clean, but the sun was hiding....but the halogens and LEDs would expose the issues later.
The "Turbo S" will be getting a similar treatment in the near future too.
Onto the things that "stumped" the bodyshop and they just couldn't fix.....
I guess they thought sanding on the edges was a good thing? *shakes head*
Initial test 50/50
Onto the orangepeel.....
Looking ship shape and proper as it should
Other side needed it as well, of course.

Looking proper
Around the flags needed attention as well so light wetsanding was carried out there as well.
After correction was finished on day 2, pics taken in the sun to show the correction. Had to fight for sun shots as the weather wasn't very cooperative in the Bay Area these couple days.
Finished late in the evening, way after the sun went down. After a coat of Meguiars D301, this is the outcome of over 22 hours of work.
Thanks for looking!

very nice good sir. Id say if there was a LS1tech member of the year, i would nominate you GoFAST908Z. You have inspired many members, myself included, to go out and learn how to fix and maintain the paint on our cars. Thank you for that.
