If you are going to get a set of heads, for that price you can get some Lloyd Elliott Ported heads. TrickFlow Heads are great, but to fully utilize them you need a cam, rockers, pushrods and a tune.

The trickflows are quality castings but with those "as cast" most cars with ported stock heads are probably going to be faster than you.
If I were going to buy Trickflows I would buy them ported from Advanced Induction but that would be serious overkill for most people's goals. I really wouldn't consider that unless chasing 10s NA even ported stock heads can do that though.

I love those 185 heads. If I were building a 355, that is what I would use. I would post up on yb asking who is a dealer for them. I'm sure someone would sell them for $1300-$1350. I'm pretty sure both LE and AI have great programs for them as well. They flow around 280cfm right out of the box iirc.

Using the hotcam as your first choice with ported heads is not the best option. While its a nice cam and easy on the valvetrain, to get the most out of AI or LE heads stick with the whole package and go with one of their cams too.

Look on LE's website at the cams section, and pick the rpm range that is best for you. Something along the lines of a 224/230 or 226/232 is probably the best for a stock bottom end. Or you could call Lloyd with your goals and hell spec one out for you. Im hoping to go this route this winter, although I have said that the past 2 winters
