Default New Lifter Install

I decided to go ahead and upgrade to LS7 lifters while I have the heads off and the cam is still new. I ordered the LS2 trays as well. I plan to drill the bottom of the trays for better oil drainback (road race car), Question is, is there any pre oiling proceedure for the lifters before I stick them in the motor? Do I let them soak in a pan of oil for a while before hand or just install them Dry? I do plan on poly lubing the rollers prior.

Soaked mine in new oil for about a week in a Baggie. Start up was just about perfectly silent as far as top end noise. I Did spin the motor over first with plugs and injectors unhooked.

Soaking them in oil should be sufficient.

You can cycle heat and cool in oil a time or two which will help them expel air and draw in oil. Overkill, but why not?
