This is a well known issue with 12 bolt rear ends since they use the 4 bolt design rather than the traditional 2 bolt through deseign that is used on the 9" rear ends, 10 bolts, and Dana 60s. When the bolts loosen up and back out they break the torque arm mounting bracket and this will happen with any torque arm not just ours. It has nothing to do with the torque arm bracket itself. There are a couple ways to combat the most popular being Loctite and semi regular checks to make sure they are tight. If you use the Loctite make sure the threads are super clean using brake clean. I have seen people go as far as tack welding the bolts to the torque arm bracket.

I think BMR is great. Their instructions said to periodically check the bolts which I never did.
Don't be lazy!

Sorry if my post came across as bad press as that is not my intention. I just want others to learn from my mistake.
We can edit the title to check moser 12 bolt TA bolts if you prefer?

I did not realize it was a 12 bolt at first. Like Kyle said, this is a very common problem. Another option that I have done in the past is to safety wire the bolts together. I have a customer that I have been working with for 10 years on a personal lever and we fought this issues for quite a while. I safely wired them and it solved the problem. I have seen other guys, out of desperation, put a small tack weld on each bolt too keep them from spinning as well.

Nah I am fine with heading. I just want to make sure people are properly informed so they don't run into the same issue you had. Depending on the rear end you have you sometimes you have to trim the torque arm bracket to use the correct set of holes on the bracket. What it comes down to is it is basically impossible for us to design a torque arm bracket that fits every rear end since there are so many differnt styles, brands and configurations so we accomodate the most prominent ones and the others have to trim a little bit off the bracket.

No worries Jason, I understood what you were warning people about. I am glad you got your issue fixed and are out driving the car agian. Just keep an eye on the bolts and check them every once in a while.

This is why I prefer a Strange 12 bolt housing to a Moser 12 bolt. You don't have to check the bolts since the Strange bolts the torque arm in like stock. At the same time I'm sure the modified TA bracket you had wasn't helping matters.

They don't make a shoulder bolt that would fit they bracket properly. The best solution is to reduce the hole size in the bracket and install longer bolts.
Strange stuck with the through bolt design fortunately and they don't have these issues, which is nice. The Moser 12-Bolt uses the four 1/2" bolts which is where the issue comes into place.
