9 grand?! It shouldn't cost that much. For 9 grand I'm pretty sure you can almost get a complete Art Morrison rolling chassis or something similar. Air ride shouldnt cost that much non should you ever spend that much if all your looking for is a little bit better ride.

You could do it way cheaper than that. A lot of their stuff is over priced and you don't have to get the kit with ALL the bells and wistles.

Just buy the 9k setup. You will out handle almost any brand new performance car sub 60k. Not bad for an 80s station wagon.

That statement is a bit extreme if you ask me. I'm sure you can setup an El Camino to perform better in various autox and road race events.. but I'm sure it will take a LOT of work and the car will eventually look like a dedicated race car. I also don't believe air ride is going to be the solution either. I'm sure it makes the car feel better, and a bit stiffer. Doesn't mean that equals good handling though.

9k? 18k? Yeah it's not worth it if you ask me.

For $9K you are better off buying a decent LS1 fbody or LT1 C4 vette...

Replace your worn out bushings with new rubber ones, get some decent shocks and possibly some springs.
Check out some el camino specific forums.

If you want/need ride height adjust ability and the best possible ride quality then get the air springs/bags, otherwise get coil springs.
Well, if you still want the air ride system but want to spend 2k less then you can drop $1200 off the price if you go with the single adjustable shocks frt & rear and another $800 if you go with their standard Control system. So there's 2k that I highly doubt you'll notice difference with.
