LQ9 question
Hello,
First off let me say I hope I posted this in the right section, if not I apologize in advance. Ok please help me out. I am on the market for a camaro. There is one for sale in my area with a LQ9 M=out of a silverado with a ls6 intake and ls6 cam out of a z06 and speed density tune. I would like to get the car and put a better cam/head combo ( i am not sure what heads are on the lq9 now).
But as it sits do you guys think this lq9 set up is better then a regular ls1? power wise? and with this setup what can be expected in the 1/4 et. I know a ls1 with a those mods is a guaranteed upper 12's easy.
I have owned 2 ls1's. Just want to know if this is a bad idea or not going with a lq9. The car is a 6 speed btw!!

LQ9 should do you well. I just spun a rod bearing on my LS2 and am getting a LQ9 built. If your not worried about the added weight since its an iron block you should be fine. With the added weight you have a stronger block though, my buddy has been spraying the hell out of his stock bottom end LQ for a long time.......still running strong, nice motor in my opinion
Not familiar with your set up but I will be running ls3 heads on mine...
