Default Squeak from front left

Here's a weird one.

I've got a squeak/clunk from the front/left when I'm backing up...mostly when the steering wheel is turned some.

Any ideas?

Check the bearings/hubs. If you have over 75K miles on them, the hubs would be suspect.

Those have to be replaced as a complete unit, right?

Yep. There is one connector for the wheel speed sensor and 4 bolts that hold the hub on.

To test the hub, you can jack up the wheel and grab it at 3 and 9 o'clock. If you pull side to side and get any wobble, that's a sure sign of a shot hub.
