Default Conflicting infrormation from our sponsors on Crane 832 dual springs; need help!

A while back I bought Crane 832 dual springs from one sponsor to go with my G5X-3 cam because they were touted as a cheaper alternative to Comp 921 springs, and both were said to be good to .650 lift per their website and sales reps.

Well today, I saw in the sponsor section, one of the sponsors was having a sale on Crane 832 dual springs, and had these stats listed:

The Crane dual springs specs are:
seat press. 112lbs@1.800
open press. 352@1.150
coil bind 1.045
MAX LIFT 0.600

That being said, are these springs good for .600 lift or .650 lift? I need to know to make sure I'm not smacking my valves against my pistons again from valve float.

1.800 - 1.150 = .650
1.800 - 1.045 = .755

I'd say it depends on how accurate you are on setting the installed height at 1.800.

About where would I be able to set the install height to make the springs good for about .650 lift?

I'm running a cam with about .625 lift and ideally I need to see 140-150 lbs of seat pressure closed, and at least 400lbs open. I'm not sure if these springs are up to the task.

Look at the specs you posted. The open pressure is speced at .650 lift with an installed height of 1.800. They don't coil bind until .755 lift. Even with .655 lift you would have a .1 margin of safety before coil bind. I think you are going to need a valve spring tester to get the other info you want if Crane won't provide it.

Per Crane, at 1.7 install height these springs are 147lbs closed, and open pressure around 400lbs at 1.05 install height, but Crane wasn't able to calculate what the exact open pressure would be (just a close guess), and I'm not sure how this would affect my coil bind. That's exactly where I'd like the pressure to be.

They did however say these springs are good to .650 lift.

I'm not sure if these springs will end up working or not, but I'd like to make em work considering how much money I spent on em.
