should this vacuum (?) port be capped off?
2002 LS1 in an offroad only vehicle.
The large port (on the left) was already capped off. The one on the right was not. I can't tell if they are connected together or not without taking some stuff apart to look deeper.
Should I cap the small one on the right too? What does this part do anyway (if it was connected)? This would normally be the back of the intake, mine is flipped.
Thanks for the help.

Yes cap it, that is the port that your HVAC (right) and Brake Booster (left) runs off of. Your sucking in unmetered air and if your not running a MAF (see Speed Density), the values would still be off. Cap them to be safe knowing the only filtered/metered air is coming from the throttle body.

Agreed, that small outlet is used for the HVAC doors under the dash on stock vehicles, so you likely do not need it. Left was brake booster.
