Default how to identify ls6 heads

I'm in the market for a set of Ls6 heads to go on my trans am bit I've been looking and seeing all diff types of casting numbers matter of fact I saw a set that said Ls6 with casting number 243 but my friends 5.3 truck has 243s? Just wanting a clear way to identify Ls6 heads thanks In advance

They're 243's as you saw.

The casting is the same. True LS6 heads got hollow/sodium filled valves which are lighter but I would only pay the premium for those if going pretty aggressive on the valvetrain.

so as long as i get a set of 243's im in the good? i dont plan on going bigger than the tsp 228r cam with the heads and mabey a mild gasket match port

At that I don't think paying the premium for true LS6 heads with the Hollow/sodium filled valves is worth it. FWIW the 799 head is the same ports and chamber just another vendor making them so now you have two casting numbers you can look for.
