Bent axle? *video*
Original post below - I posted the short video below. Please take a look and lemme know if that axle appears bent. Its worse with the wheel bolted on. Just want to make sure before I buy one and tear it all apart. Thanks!
I put vibration in quotations since I can hear it loudly but barely feel it
its speed-dependent, starts around 5mph, a "wom, wom, wom" sound that increases with speed until ~60mph and then starts to go away (or perhaps my exhaust just drowns it out)
it started about two weeks ago, two weeks after suspension upgrades and alignment
I know its not:
1) wheels/tires - swapped between two complete sets and sound didnt change or go away
2) front suspension - rebuilt within the last month, all new bushings, ball joints, tie rods, etc. I'm certain its not the hubs since I can jack the front and grab both wheels and shake and there is absolutely no movement whatsoever
I've narrowed it down to
1) driveshaft - stock '93 steel (can a weight fall off?)
2) bent axle? - my wife drives the car 1-2 times a week and if she hopped a curb, she likely wouldn't tell me
3) axle bearings going out? - there's no sound but some leaking at the passenger side end
that said, what symptoms should I look for for the above? I'll have all day tomorrow free so I can pretty much do anything
TIA

Update: turned out to be a bent axle, driver side. Wheel on or off, with the rear on jackstands in drive, you could see a 1-2mm 'wobble' side to side. Wheel off, the disc did the same thing.
Currently looking for one straight non-TCS axle with good studs...

I too have the same sound, took it to my differential guys and they said it was also a bent axle and my bearings are prob shot.
Will upgrading to a better axle make the 10 bolt any stronger along with a solid pinion spacer in place of the crush sleeve?
