Any cammed car with a decent amount of overlap will sound like that. In all reality, I think your car would sound better with the same cam due to your 3" true duals. Plus, I'm betting that OP's car is not tuned, which makes it sound a lot "loppier".

Thanks y'all, yes car is still on a baseline tune so the idle is a bit more untame than it should be. As for the rasp and pop it's my exhaust set up... 1 7/8 stepped headers, TSP ORY and borla adj. cat back(my personal favorite cat back).

The motor is pretty much stock besides for the cam, lifters(morel link bars), and valve springs... I was on a extremely strict budget when I did the swap... The body has about 171xxx miles and the engine which I got from a junkyard has 95xxx

Ive got a pretty good sized cam (234/250@.050) and its pretty choppy, but its more of a deep chop, not poppy like this car. Ive also got 1 7/8 lt headers but im thinkin I need to do a merge of some sort and different mufflers and pipe with some turn downs. Just kinda tryin to see what I need to do to get that sound. Not to thread jack here im just cruious

It's because you have true duals, that gets rid of the rasp/pop.

I just told you my exhaust set up... The only way you can get your car to sound similar to mine is to use the same set up as mine! Lol!!
