I smell gas
Hello. I recently bought a 95 Formula m6 from my Navy buddy. He had the car for 17 years. It sat alot the last 3 years. Right after I bought it I put a new fuel filter and Magnaflow cat cause the original cat plugged up on me. The car runs great but I keep smelling fuel. Inside the car and outside near the fuel cap. I looked underneath and see no leaks. Could it be some sort of vent line? Anybody have a similar issue?

was a hole cut in the trunk area for a fuel pump change? some guys do the trap door instead of dropping the tank. If a hole was cut and not sealed back up it will smell like fuel.

I found the top line coming out of purge selenoid which connects near the throttle body was cracked. I temp fixed it with tape and the problem seems to be gone. The smell is nearly gone and when I remove the gas cap I don't get a big release of pressure. Thanks to those who replied!! Now I need to replace the rubber tube and get it fixed right!!
