Grand Am Camshaft & serious valve float
Hey Guys
Just running this camshaft with the following components and getting valve float at around 6600rpm.
comp r lifters ( 1/8 preload )
comp 921 springs
comp pro mag 1.85 rockers
titanium retainers
manley 2.02 & 1.6 valves ls6 heads
I see people post that there car with this cam revs to 7500-8000 rpm
What springs ,rockers ect are they using ?
We have installed this cam with 4 degrees advance for good torque but thinking of going back to 1-0 advance.
Will try and run some 1.75 comp rockers instead of the 1.85 and some 918 beehive springs to help the valve float.
Is their a another cam that would be faster down the 1/4 mile ( Do not want to go smaller & have plenty of room for bigger cam)
P.S It is still making power upto 6600 on the dyno.
Cheers & hope you can help
