need suggestions on next bolt on
i just put in the tr 224/224 cam with springs, pushrods etc. i currently have long tubes, off rd y pipe, magnaflow cat back, lid, filter, thermostat. my question to those of you with this cam is if i should go with the ls6 intake since i have the stock ls1 intake or should i go with 410 gears on my m6?
some people tell me to get the ls6 intake to help the cam breathe and some others tell me 410s so i can get up to my power band quicker. i am gonna order this coming friday and i would like for people to give me suggestions on what to get. i am still undecided and i would like some feedback from everyone in here. thanks alot

i have 342's. i am worried about my 10 bolt. however, i am planning on getting strange gears which are supposed to be stronger and i am also going to get all the bearings and anything that i can change while i am in it. i am also gonna the the ta girdle in one shot so that everything is tighter and less prone to disaster. i know that ill pick up about 10 rwhp with the ls6 intake, but will it give me more gains at the track than 410s will???? i need everybody's input if possible as i am going to get one of the two this coming friday. please, give me any input you may have. my current best et is 12.84 at 109mph on drag radials and stock ls1 intake, 342's gears, completely untuned vehicle, not even o2 simmulators, long tube headers, magnaflow cat back, etc.. i am planning on tuning my vehicle around july, but i would like suggestions on whether the ls6 intake should help me more than 410s or not in helping my et's..

4.10's will probably help more if you are hooking up. And if you are hooking fairly well, your 10 bolt won't survive 4.10's. Catch 22 eh?
Gear manufacturer/girdle won't save your 10 bolt with 4.10's, DR's, and a 6 speed.
Seen 'em break with stock engines before.

so what you are saying is to go for the ls6 intake then?? what i plan to do in the future is to buy an auburn differential with strange axles and gears to strengthen it more. i was also thinking about buying an eaton posi differential since i heard those are good. i will never ever ever buy a twelve bolt or a ford nine inch because thats a hell of alot of money. besides, eventually ill buy another car once i am tired of having this one. i guess it makes sense to go for the ls6 instead

From my experience, 4.10s tend to be short lived in a 10 bolt with a lot of track time and a good tire. Tough question, I think you would probably see more gains at the track with the gears, but I would get the intake and save my money for a 12 bolt or 9 inch. The stock 3.42s are tough as hell! My .02
