Default driveshaft length

say I get a direct bolt-in rear. In theory the driveshaft should be the same length right?

in theory.

My buddy has an old drive shaft of mine and it was too long, wouldn't fit. was too long by a hair. but fit prefect in mine. Both have the same setup.

I would measure it to make sure it fits. It's VERY easy to do and this way you get a prefect fitting driveshaft.

It depends on the rear. If you get something other than a 10 bolt I would measure! I have an S60 so I had to go with a shorter one. The one sent out with the initial order was 40.25" and proved too long. After measuring 39.50" was what I needed.

That was my dilemma but price steered me towards the S60. Good luck with yours.
