Default 400+ ci LS9 blower speed?

Hi,

have finished buidling a 4xxci ERL superdeck engine with ported LS9 heads (Lingenfelter) pretty big track racing cam to replace a blown up LS9 enginein a ZR1. We reuse the LS9 supercharger with all stage 3 upgrades (snout, ported intake, cold air box, full LG headers + Akrapovic, pulleys) but not so sure how much the bigger displacement hurt the little 2.3l blower in terms of heat build up. overspinning it or slowing it down?

Right now running a stock sized ATI crank dampner with a LPE 2.38" pulley, but i am thinking about slowing down blower with a 2,60" pulley to help feeding the larger engine and to keep intake tempy down.

or could go with a 14% OD pulley and chose between any of above pulleys.

what do you think?

it is will be trade off between hp and reliability at the track of course

hz

Superdeck = spin the blower to the max.

Maybe Methenol injection to keep up with temps.

I say keep the stock upper in place, and just use the OD balancer. I know what ZR1s do at the road course, and when spun at MAX blower speed, the cooling systems cannot shed enough heat to make them reliable.

Heinz isnt afraid to put a big blower on it, but this car has to go 40 minutes at the Nurburgring.

Nurburgring!!! Any chance of some video of the car?

I've been twice many years ago and this is one of the coolest tracks in the world. Would love to see this 427 hauling around it.

sorry putting a bigger blower on it is not on the agenda (for now). If a bigger blower then probably a 2.9 or 3.6l Whipple instead of the 2.3l TVS. This is a no nonsense no BS track car which held records on Sachsenring and Hockenheimring and won against 800hp Porsches. 2013 titles will be conquered back with new setup thus the name of the game is maximising the setup for power and reliability.

which brings us back to topic, slowing down supercharger or speeding up, can do both we are in the middle of it. Intercooler system has been completely changed except the bricks in the plenum.

here just one pic of it

and a link with a professionial driver

Nice! Will a bigger PD blower fit under the hood? I would think slowing the blower down would kill it top end.

that is the question. It could, but spinning it near or over max could throw PD out of a tolerable efficiency window and it would just generate lots of heat but no more power. Actually if it can't fill the bigger engine power might go down too?

A dual pass heat exchanger might help if that's the problem. Used to do it to friends cobras quite a bit back in the day. Next thought is if the coolers are efficient enought to cool the charge inside the blower while spinning it so fast.
