Default Straight Black??

Hey guys. I own an 05 PBM and it drives me nuts. No matter how long I sit there and monotonously detail it, it always comes out looking cloudy and swirly. Wondering if any pbm guys have gone with straight gloss (If so pics?). Another option would be a flat black wrap but I'm up in the air on my feelings about going flat.

Well first off, how and what are you "detailing" with.

I'm sure over the years of improper detailing has lead to a lovely spider webbed clearcoat. I little paint correction would do wonders.

Agreed,
Our 2001 Holden Monaro still has the majority of factory paint in Delft Blue.

Order some Adams Polishes. Get the basic porter cable kit. Then get a porter cable buffer from lowes or homedepot. Follow there super easy instructions take your time and bam swirl marks gone for about 300 bucks total in gear.

Or if your in the panhandle drive to me and I'll charge ya a good price. lol.

Good luck and post pics of the paint. Also when your finished.

Ok, may try that. I've always been weary of using a buffer because I'm afraid to swirl it up even worse. Right now I do it by hand and use mothers waxes and lots of time polishing with my microfibers. I even tried to clay bar it and it still looks terrible in the lower door panels.

Trust me as long as you watch a couple videos they send you, read the back of every wax bottle you use, you cant f it up unless you drop a pad it gets rocks in it an you then use it. Then you will scratch your car up. You will use there entire kit, ie shampoo, clay bar, detailer spray, everything. It works great man trust me. I detail cars on the side now because it works so great.

Try Meguiars microfiber 2 step system, I hear its awesome plus it cuts out a whole pass on the car. Or you can always go with the tried and true M105 on a cutting pad, followed by polish, followed by wax.

The only thing that removes swirls in an efficient manner is a DA or rotary buffer with the proper pads and compounds. Forget trying to compound a whole car by hand and forget orbitals. I would recommend the Porter Cable DA buffer for a beginner.

Wash
Clay
Compound
Polish
Wax

Wow, so you can't detail properly and you think new paint will fix it?
Hint, your new paint will look just as shitty if you can't do it correctly. Considering I could make my old, wrecked ranger's paint look like glass when I tried, I think you could too.
