Default C7 Corvette Sedan concept?!

http://www.lsxtv.com/news/video-will...r-c7-corvette/

Video: Will GM Unveil A 4-Door C7 Corvette?

During its existence, Pontiac created some of GM’s most beloved and feared performance models. As if it wasn’t enough that the Tempest-based GTO in the ’60s set the bar for door-slammer aggression, the Pontiac nameplate did it again from ’04-06 with the Holden-based GTO that put the General’s LS motor series into a whole new arena of street fighting.

While Pontiac never seemed to have issue with making stoplight warriors out of their more midsized coaches, when it came to carrying this tried-and-true heritage of brute performance over to the luxury sedan segment, one of Pontiac’s greatest achievements was the horsepower oriented variant of the Commodore-based G8 produced from ’08-09, the GXP.

GM of North America president, Mark Reuss was just as hurt as anybody over Pontiac’s demise in 2009 and since that time, Reuss has felt the empty space caused by the General’s lack of a performance sedan segment. “Those were the worst days of my job,” says Reuss of working for GM during the mid-’09 sales year. “It was terrible.”

But GM’s Australian sibling Holden continues to offer the Commodore sedan, and it’s the Commodore VF’s globally-recognized Zeta platform, currently the platform for Camaro, that may just give Chevy and indeed Vette enthusiasts a glimpse of hope for the 2014 model year.

That’s because Reuss and GM have up their sleeves an idea for a 4-door sled that will essentially serve, according to Reuss, as Chevy’s sedan version of the Corvette, the ’14 SS sedan. It will be powered by the upcoming LT1 mill that will inevitably be stuffed into not only the C7, but possibly the GNX that has been rumored to be part of Buick’s near future.

The same engineering team from General that developed the 5th-Gen ZL1 also worked to refine the Zeta platform for the SS, helping to reinforce Chevy’s famed “Super Sport” trademark. Mark Reuss wanted to make sure that the ’14 SS stayed true to the name.

“The SS has a lot of meaning. You know, Chevelles with cowl induction and all the stuff we used to have. Along through history it was sometimes done wrong when it was just a trim package,” explains Reuss.

High performance sedans, especially one that piggyback off of the Vette marque may just become the hot new auto market in the next few sales years to come. Do you think that Chevy’s new SS will be a smart buy when you’re in the market for luxury performance?!

The wound healed, but the bad taste still hasnt.

That's so funny because my g8 has been a great car with almost 60k on it but like always they do make lemons sometimes.

Mine was a combo of **** poor quality control at gm, and then even worse quality control and caring at the dealer. GM is fortunate to ahve such a great engine platform otherwise id never buy any of their ****. I swear every american made car ive ever owned has been a turd in one way or another, yet every import has never once failed me.

^^^

Every Camaro/Chevy i've owned was a trooper. That includes 3 LS1 Camaro's, 1984 El Camino, 1986 GMC pick-up, and 1984 K5.

All the imports i've owned, have had nothing but issues.
1991 BMW 318i (stripped spark plug hole, Lost oil pan bolts, Heater went out, and Timing chain went wonky)
1996 Mitsubishi eclipse non-turbo 420A (Threw a rod twice on 2 different engines, could not keep it's alignment to save its life)
1991 Miata (Complete freaking rattle trap)
1993 LE Miata (Slave and master cylinder's went out, Cat gutted itself, Shock threads snapped off, A/C took a dump, P/S pressure line exploded, door seals leaked like crazy, Cam angle sensor went out)

I have owned over 50 cars. I can tell you that everyone I have ever owned required some sort of quality compromise. Hell I had an s430mb that spun a main bearing at 43k miles. I have had a 97 4runner that leaked more from its rear axle seals than a dirty hooker does from her ****. I had an m3 that they replaced that smg gear box 2 times. I also had an expedition that always had one coil pack go bad. But that truck still made 400k miles. I have never owned a car with less problems than the g8 camaro and f150 combo I have now. I think both companies have come a long way. Now Toyota and Honda are slipping the other direction. So funny how things work.

Yah that sucks. That's why I trade cars all the time. I have been in Texas almost 2.5 years on cars 7-8-9 since we got there

Why would they put out something stupid like this just to take sales away from the Chevy SS they are about to debut?

Come on guys. This is basically the same quote from the Chevy SS Sedan press release. Then some yahoo took a C7 concept and stretched it into a sedan. It is pure crap. You guys have been had by a hack trying to push traffic to his site.

It will more then likely have a Fisker body with either a Z06 or ZR1 motor as was stated earlier today by Bob Lutz. That rendering the OP posted is complete crap and that definitely won't be it.

This is more like what it would actually look like. ---->http://www.gtspirit.com/2013/01/14/o...stino-edition/
