The AWD system used on the HSV Coupe 4 is engineered for right-hand-drive cars only, meaning it cannot be adapted to left-hand-drive models.
You would have to convert the car to right hook steering and pedals, then install the components.
It would probably be much less costly to simply import an HSV Coupe 4 than trying to adapt the system to a GTO.

I don't understand why you assume that just because it is engineered for rhd it can't be modded to fit lhd? What are the specific reasons why it can't be fitted to a lhd GTO? Sure, the steering may require some work, but hell we can convert C5's, Mustangs and anything else you care to think of to rhd down here so why not convert the AWD to lhd?

Cause woundt U just need the front assembly of the AWD system? Then modify the Shifter linkage and get an HSV's ECM to make it work? Cause U know that GM is never gonna bring that to the states.

The driveshaft for the FWD goes on the left hand side of the gearbox, the Commodore floor pan is already offset with trans tunnel to the left of the car (that's why your LHD GTO's don't get a foot rest pedal and the RHD cars do....) The left footwell is narrower than the right, before the issues of the shafts, etc..
I'm no expert but that's what I have read locally about the issue. not saying you couldn't mod it either, but HSV will not be doing it to this platform. New VE (Sigma) platform in 2006, will have all these issues resolved from the get go.
