full bolt on car, Headers, lid, filter, catback..
A friend wants to know what the gains of GTP stage 2 heads, and a 218/224 cam with LS6 intake would gain him. in HP wise.

Re: Question on GTP Stage 2 heads and 218/224 cam
Deja vu here, as I just replied to a similar thread...
My original 346cid combo used a set of GTP 2.02/1.57" valved heads, and a CompCams 220/224 .532/.535 cam, and ran a best NA ET of 10.83 @ a raceweight of around 3350lbs.
I think GTP's heads have only gotten better since then, and tuning has come along way as well. If everything else is set up right, that combo can really lay down some impressive numbers!

Hey George, what kinda timing where u seeing and what plugs were u using?
I'll still have the TNT kit (USED RARELY) so I'll have to go with TR6's, but what's a good gap? .48???

Re: Question on GTP Stage 2 heads and 218/224 cam
Timing advance was 29deg. I always ran NGK TR6 plugs in that motor. I run an ice cold Champion S59C non-projected tip plug in the current motor, since it's really tight in the combustion chamber and it takes some work to make a standard reach plug work in there.
I found .042-.045 was always a good gap for me with the NGK's. You may want to tighten that up a little down to .038" or so to hit it with that TNT kit.

Re: Question on GTP Stage 2 heads and 218/224 cam
I think that cam may be a little small for those heads. I'm running a CC 218/224 114 cam w/ Absolute Stage 1x heads, shortie headers & full cats, pulling 383 HP. The cam is dead quiet, idles & sounds just like stock.
One of our local EFA guys is running the GTP Stage 2 heads w/ a 230/224 111 cam, & pulling some BIG dyno #'s. The GTP heads work well w/ a big cam.

Re: Question on GTP Stage 2 heads and 218/224 cam
The idle quality of my 220/224 cam was close to stock... Sure, you could stick something bigger/more radical in there, but that's not for everyone...

Re: Question on GTP Stage 2 heads and 218/224 cam
i had that cam (218 224) in my IRS STAGE 2 thing was crazy in the midrage. would of been a great spray cam if i kepted it and should of!! car was all over the place.. then got dumb and put 4.10's in and the car was useless on the street. would get beat by honda's. ok, not really, but even with nitto's on it was crazy all over the place. had to go with the 224 224 cam and got 3.73's for spray at the same time. was a fun at the time tho

Re: Question on GTP Stage 2 heads and 218/224 cam
I think you should consider a 224/224 114LSA cam for that combo. Would make great power and be emissions legal
