My friend bought a front wheel drive 5.3 and wants some help getting it to bolt up to his TH350 in his Jeep that currently has a BBC......

What am I getting myself into? Is this even possible?

Just a few issue.. the FWD usually has a BOP bell housing or bolt pattern.. you might need to use an Adapter, Flyewheel and Converter to adpate the two together.. but in the end, it is just and engine and it is just a transmission.. you figure the differences and what you need to adapter the two together and anything is possible.

Might talk to Transdap.. they do a lot of adapters.

I believe mounting the starter is a big problem.

TYup! This is going to be your problem. The FWD engines don't have a starter mounting boss on them, its made onto the transmission on them.
