Heads ok for 76mm build?
I have been gathering parts for my 76mm turbo build and really don't want to have to pull my current heads. They are Patriot stg 2 5.3's at 63cc from patriot, but may have been milled to 59cc by previous owner I'm not 100% sure. Any reason I couldn't use them with a ls6 cam or is compression going to be a factor. Looking to stay pump gas and shooting for 550-575 HP wise on stock bottom end. Open to input!

Ditch them. Pick up the 317's from MustangBrk02. I have a turbo build going on right now with my GTO and I have 5.3L heads as well, but they weren't milled. I think my CR is right around 10:7:1.

This is my first turbo car so it will be a learner experience to say the least lol. Just got a job at the police dept so 4 days on 4 days off will allow plenty of time to build it! I've actually been looking at a few sets of 317 heads and I'll just sale mine to recoup some cost. Another question....
Arp head studs or arp head bolts?

Just food for thought, why not use the money on some good dished pistons and rods instead of another set of heads and freshen up the bottom end that way you have some peace of mind instead. That way you can daily it without issue an crank up the boost if you feel like it.

From what i know all of the stock castings are about .4" where as the aftermarket ones are usually around .75" which is quite a big difference when you're looking at rigidity and preventing the heads from lifting. And the LSA and LS9 heads are both roto cast with a better quality aluminum for a stronger casting. If you have the money it is usually a better idea to just go to a good quality aftermarket casting.
