I have 4.10s in my setup. As you can see in my sig, I put down 470whp last summer, and will be closer to ~495whp this summer. With that said, the gears are perfect for the track, other than that, I am actually getting kind of sick of them. I ran them about 1/2 of last summer. Anything below 40 and the car goes sideways, when it starts getting colder out, anything below 60 and that's the case (with 315s out back). As soon as you put your foot down you are grabbing the next gear. Therefore, since I do not track my car all that often, I am really contemplating switching to a 3.73 gear. The car will bog out of the hole with that gear, but will be much more highway friendly. Spinning the motor to 6800, you can only get about 125 out of 4th with these gears (stock sized tires).

Cliffs: If you want a complete burnout machine/only track your car, 4.10s are for you. If you are more of a street setup, go with a longer gear.

i have 4.10s on my H/C/I ls1 camaro .. i only use the car during weekends at cruises and shows during nice and dry days. I love the gears, it made a night and day difference. I feel like i hit 5th gear pretty quickly, thus feeling the power in your pants very quickly aswell. Im running 315s in the rear and still break loose pretty easily, even on a 20-35mph rolls, depending on how cold the pavement is aswell.. thats the only downside i guess. When i go out racing, i prefer roll racing because of that reason..
All and all, 4.10s makes the car alot funner.. in my personal experiance..

Also take into consideration that 4.10s are a smaller and thinner ring and pinion size than the stock 3.42.. thus making it more vulnerable to breaking. thats why i run street tires, putting less stress on the rear end.

i have 373 already in the rear from my old a4 set up.i am riding on 315 nitto 555 street tires.it just feels like i lost a little kick in the pants feeling after the swap.im leaning toward the 410 gear for that reason ,not to be able to blow the tires off it .my old auto setup had no problem with lol

i agree with some of the people above. the 4.10's are fun but they do break traction very easily and are too short for the street imo. I have 3.90s now and love them, going down the street, 1st gear is still useful taking off from stoplights, and when doing roll speeds if I ease into it i can keep the car straight.

Highway drving went up a few hundred rpm but with the m6 you dont notice it I spin 1900 at 80. Another thing is that the 4.10 pinion is pretty tiny whereas the 3.90 uses the same size pinion as the 3.73's so you will get a little more strength with the 3.90s

See sig below. My car came stock with the 4.10 gear. It's just too aggressive. First and second spin. Third hold well enough. My only other option going lower is a 3.90(auto gear for a stock RX7) which I will be doing. My other option is swap in a cobra diff and run 3.73 but I think I want to try the 3.90 first.
