Car Intake on LQ4 water pump questions. Please help.
If i switch over the L99 (2010 Camaro) water pump, will i have to buy the L99 belt tensioner also? or can i use my truck tensioner... i'm not going to run A/C at this time so i don't have to worry about all that.. Just factory Alt/PS setup with the bracket modd'ed and the PDM4Less idler pulley...

Also if you go to my build thread I have a writeup on relocating the idler for pretty cheap:

Bandit, would the factory truck accessories (high mount alt) work with the belt routing and the L99 water pump??? would the water outlet hit the belt??? Also, i've also relocated my idler pulley to that location on the alt bracket...

If you go to lsbrackets.com and look at their idler pulley relo bracket, it shows the belt routing. Assuming the waterpump outlet clears the alternator bracket (it looks like it may be close from the pics above), the belt should clear, IMO.
I just put a 2002 Camaro wp on my LQ4 last night using lsbrackets' spacers. I ordered the idler relo plate as well, but the packing envelope got trashed in the mail and the plate was missing (a new one will be here by Friday). That wp required a 2000 Camaro tensioner as well, as the stock tensioner would have been over 1/2" too far forward.

Do you have a thread on your build? What length serpentine belt did you wind up using? I have almost the exact setup.

Well looks like i found my soloution... I didn't want to use the spacers and the F-body pump so i'm getting an L99 pump, tensioner and i have the PCMforless.com idler pulley relocation kit.. i trimmed my alt bracket and will be going that route... one less thing to worry about... haha.

The ac bracket I made myself out of some 3/16 flat iron I had in the scrape pile and some tubing I had. I used the 2010 camaro belt tensioner and a couple of idler pulleys. I'll check on the belt lenght this afternoon and let you know how long it is. I started a build thread a while ago but have been busy and I haven't worked on the car for awhile so their isn't much their. The thread is "1970 firebird lq4 t56". I'm not to computer freindly so I don't know how to attach a link. If you have any questions I'll try to answer them.
