Default IS300 swap

picked up this 02 IS300 a few months ago for a daily driver for $750. it has a salvage title & is a little rough but it runs good & has a/c. currently has a 2Jz with CAI, header & a tune.

having just finished a swap into my bagged 96 chevy fullsize

i had every intention of doing an LS1 swap into the IS when i bought it.

then i came across a hell of a deal on an 02 LS1 pulled from an 02 Camaro SS. complete package, motor (has LS6 intake), trans (4l60e), uncut harness, ECU, & all accessories, with 35K.

i've seen a few swaps done on here & still have a lot of research to do but i have confidence i can handle it. i'm trying to barter as much as i can to do the swap, i did about 75% of my last swap bartering. progress will be slow but i'll update as progress moves along.

any of you guys that have done the swap please contact me, i have a few questions.

If you build it rice boys will hate you. The car will be a sleeper for a daily driver.

it's not a very common swap but it's been done. i hoping to score a t56 before i'm ready to do the swap. if not i'm sure it will still be fun with the auto. wish there was some way i could get the paddle shifters in the IS to work.

i'm going to make my own mounts. i've found a few places that sell kits, but they're crazy wanting $600-$900 for them for a few pieces of steel. i've seen enough pics online i can fabricate my own. i have several sets of blank LS1 plates & have a cad file for all the pieces. i'm going to have my friend cut a few sets of the rest of the pieces then build a few sets. i'm using a modified GTO pan from Stancel. i plan on matching it to a friend of mines pan from CX Racing for his 240 & i would like to match it up to the Sikky pan from another friend of mine doing a 240 LS1 swap.

Thats a score for $750! I love those cars, and an LS swap would make it perfect!

the 3 pieces are from scaling of some pics of some other mounts i've found that other people have made. they may not be perfect but they're a good start. the plate that mounts to the motor is done to exact spec. i have a bunch of those plate already made up & have friend's that have plasma & water jet tables so they can hook me up with cutting anything i can design.
