4L80E....Jakes Valve Body Calibration or Transgo HD2
Im in the process of getting my 80 rebuilt.i found quite a bit of info on the hd2 kit,but does jakes kit offer any kind of advantage or more features?what exact features does it have?i looked on the site but it doesnt really say much.and yes I called jakes but my question still didnt really get answered

Jake knows his stuff, and is a realy helpful guy. He helped me build my TH400 with all his old threads I found online and he doesn't even know! That being said, I'm sure anything he put together is worth it.
I don't know how similar an 80 and 400 are, but I know the trans go kit for my 400 wasn't up to the task, and I used Jake's instructions to make my own manual VB and do some internal mods to make it last.

I spoke with Jake about this exact same thing. He was a great guy and answered my questions. He told me to go with the transgo hd kit because I wasn't rebuilding mine. I got the kit here now. If you are getting it rebuilt. Go with the Jakes all the way. Thats what I would do if it were me. Jakes does internal mods and way more than the transgo. Transgo is using a gasket essentially to do the mods. Some have complained of cross flow in them. If mine shells out and has to come apart. Ill go with Jakes for sure. Id get his transbrake at the same time if you are going to put one in.
