Default button on automatic shifter sticking

Randomly for no reason the button that allows you to shift from park on my automatic sticks / wont depress. Any ideas why this thing does this? I am worried one day it wont actually depress at all and ill be stranded

I had the same problem. It's just dirt and grime buildup on the plastic piece that runs on the inside of the shift lever. If you take off your handle, you'll see what i mean. You can push it down, but you have to pull it back up (normally it would pop back up on its own)

I have the same problem, how did you fix this, did you have to take it all apart to clean it or just spray some WD-40 or PB blaster down there?
