Trans overheating i have a 01 trans am with a 4L60e, fully rebuild, a 3600 stall, and a B&M 24,000 Trans Cooler. and when im driving around it goes around 180 - 200, but when i get on it 2 times or more "at the track or street" it heats up to 220 - 260 and does shift into 3rd. Does this happened to everyone or do i need to relocated my trans cooler. its attach to the front of the radiator
If it's on the front of the radiator, then it's subject to
the radiator airflow.
Are your fans running full time, low at least, when the
motor is up to operating temp? If there's the kind of
temp / swing you cay, I would suspect not. No air =
no help, air only when rolling = no help in the staging
lanes.
Then, when's the last time you blew out all the crap
that collects in the condenser and radiator? With
fins full of lawn clippings, the fans can't do what they
should.

seems hotter than normal-i had mine mounted under the car, not the greatest for air movement, and it never got over 190, 4L80E with a high stall
