Default Rear differential?

Hey guys. First of all, I apologize if this is the wrong section; I'm new here. Anyway, I just bought a 1997 Camaro Z28 30th Anniversary Edition with no motor. The seller told me it has 4.10 gears in the rear differential I was just wondering if it's possible to actually determine that, and if so, How?

Take off the rear cover and count the teeth.

or even easier one revolution of the axles will be 4.1 turns of the pinion.

What he said. Mark the tire with a strip of tape and the pinion with chaulk. Slowly rotate the tire (or brake) for one revelution while counting the pinion rotations. It might be easier if you have a friend to help.

Good Luck

yup, the pinion should make a little more than 4 rotations compared to the tire
