Default viper shaft too long

got my new viper shaft in and its 1/2 inch longer than the one in my transmission , i bought it and thought it was an direct replacement for the one i'm changing it out for, i bent mine.

I know that the viper shaft for the f-body T56 has to be modified, is it just shorten an 1/2 inch

i'm thinking it just was not cut too length, is this right??

Thanks in advance

Was it purchased from the same sponsor as the original? Some cut them flush to the Fbody tail, others cut the 1/2 out. As long as your driveshaft still has enough travel, it should be ok. The actual viper shaft has more to cut than just 1/2" for an Fbody application.
