B&B headers, Ive ulled the starter more than once, never touched the headers. It's a puzzle to remove it, round hole square peg kind of thing, but twist it the right way and it comes out.

Not sure with UMI mounts, I had CS at the time. It seems impossible, and just when your about to give up it comes out. For some reason it's easier to get back in.

You could also take down the tranny and bellhousing to get it out.

Well. What a pain in the ***! When it is all said and done, the proper way with UMI MM would be to remove the right side along with the header. I managed to get by with just loosening the headers and wiggling and prying and using my favorite tool, the BFH.

However, in the process I 1 broke a header bolt (its ok for now it was the one very close to the other one in the center), 2 crushed my dipstick tube to where I could not remove the stick (fixed temporarily till I get a new one) and 3 all but ruined my exhaust wrap on the headers (awesome).

Thank god I will not have to do that again for a while. Also, that the new starter only cost 60$ for the H2.

Hope this helps someone in the future. Sure wish I knew.

U don't gotta remove the header.. Just lossen the bolts so it moves about an inch. Ratchet wrench works wonders.. But yea, it's a little unnessasary

with my OBX headers and UMI mounts, I could probably get the starter out and replaced in no more than 20 minutes...
