Deployed/Shopping-Lug/stud help please/BIG PICS INSIDE
A few days prior to my deployment I broke 4 studs off of the left rear wheel. It was very tramatic. I had to be towed back to the house and everything.
I will be replacing all the studs (F+R) with 2.5" ARPs. The wheels are C6 Z06. The rear wheels will have 5/16 custom spacers from a non-sponsor.
My ultimate goal is to find CLOSED LOCKING LUGS for the wheels that will fit the length 2.5" ARP studs. I would like to do Gorilla Lugs again however, the problem is they only come in 1.4" length and will be too short. Is there a locking set of closed end lugs out there that will work in this application?
I found a set of 50mm in length but fear that might look like *** with the wheels due to the end og the nut sticking out almost 1" further than the wheel.

Lukcy for me it was literally around the corner from the house. The wheel was being held on by one stud = scary chet

not sure what your question is, but this is what i went with when i bent mine.. new rear studs and what i think is called an ET lug.. dont think they make an acorn that long.. unless you run spacers then the threads will be shorter..

I'll sum it up for you guys. OP is a good buddy of mine...
And Jason, send me the pics, I can resize them if you want..
Or if you go through the uploader here on tech under the attachments, they won't be so big.
But anyway. OP Sheered his studs off, wants upgraded ones for all 4 corners, but doesn't want them longer than stock.
He does have a set of spacers not installed yet as he's trying to get the back wheels to sit out farther.
Wants closed lugs and/or reuse locker Gorilla lugs he has.
And what are those white spots on your tail lights??

Before you cut them off order a set of them and install them on one wheel and run the lugs you have onto them. Your lugs may fit. I installed the 2.5" ARPs on a 98 TA using 5/16" spacers to push out some of the deep dish C5 wheels (OE wheels) so they were flush with the fender and I was able to use a standard closed end acorn lug.

i would think the fronts only would be needed in a autocross or road race car.. i never even thought about doing my fronts..unless to run a drag wheel of some sort.

I'm going to take everyones advice and just do the rear for now. If one ever does break from the front stock will do just fine. I was going to do the front for piece of mind. The car barely gets driven hard any more. The front studs have stood up to hundreds of miles of canyon carving abuse, right Bayer.

YES! Good tip. or else you'll never get the new nut on. Maybe take a thread file after and clean it up. Or grind a taper into the stud, then take the nut off and clean it w the thread file.
