Alright, im building a 99% street car, ive decided to do a TH400 tranny. the furthest id drive is about 60-120 miles one way. I was going to do a 4l80e, but theyre just too expensive, and the wiring seems like a PITA. So, i figured 85% of my driving is going to be in town on the weekends.

Heres my setup.

MWC 9" rear w/ 3.90 gear

shooting 1000rwhp

RPM transmission recommended..

3600rpm stall
go with a 3.50 rear gear

He said the car will come alive fast. I dont want the car to feel sluggish on the street.

This a good setup as far as the stall and rear gear?

I have heard great things about the Yank3400 stall in a high horsepower street car. Look at both Ls1curt and another member who is slipping my mind right now but also has a BW S88 turbo. The 3.50 gear should be great also as long as you will be running a 28" tire.

You will love the built TH400! And also great choice on not going with the 4L80e IMO. Be prepared for all of the haters to give you crap about not having an OD gear, while you give them just as much crap back for being about 35-40lbs heavier.
