I used a GM TKO on my 5.3. Sachs 1050 flywheel. I used a Mcleod hydraulic TOB (1364), but I recommend keeping your cable if you can. RAM SBC clutch worked with some light grinding of a few holes that didn't line up all the way. I used a bellhousing from some early 70s big block truck.
I should have a new GM TKO input shaft in the attic if you're interested. It came with my transmission. PO had bought it to align a triple disc clutch but never finished the car.

Standard GM bellhousings bolt right up to LSX blocks. i have an LQ4 with a lakewood suspensions bellhousing for a muncie bolted to an american powertrain adapter plate bolted to a t56 so that i could keep my mechanical clutch linkage. like garys said it all depends on your input shaft

If you swap out the input shaft for a GM, that will make the clutch, pilot bearing easier. I think you'll also need the GM bearing retainer too. Does your trans have the wide GM, or tall Ford trans to bellhousing bolt pattern, or both? That bell in the link has the wide GM pattern.

OK, I've never done either of these myself but both are feasible, and my advice is worth exactly what you pay for it here ;-)
-Change out your input shaft for a GM version with GM bearing retainer, use an LS1 fywheel/clutch/pressure plate, LS7 pilot bearing, around 1.75" throwout bearing, and a mid to late 80s Astro Van 4.3 bell housing. It has bosses for both ford and GM trans and is spaced correctly for GM input shaft length. You will have to drill/tap the ford bosses in the bell.
-Keep the ford input shaft, machine a 1/2" adapter plate between the trans and GM 621 bell, use an LS1 flywheel, pressure plate with a compaible ford disc, machine an adpter pilot bearing for the LS crank and larger ford input shaft, not sure what to use for the throwout bearing.
there may be adapter bell housings, just expensive, must be compatible with a 168 tooth flywheel and 11" GM clutch.

The fork itself wont center up
but i am using the folk from the V6 and Z BAR do i need the fork from a bbc 621 ?
and not to sound dumb but which part is the zbar ?
IS that the ball thats on the outside of the bell housing or in the inside ?
First time doing a manual

The 621 bell was used on early 70s BBC chevelles. Get a fork for that application. Use an adjustable ball stud a chevy 1.25" throwout bearing with a sachs 1050 flywheel or a 1.75" throwout with an LS1 flywheel.
